I had always wanted to do an advent calendar tradition with my children that told the story of Jesus' birth. In 2020, the Lord opened my eyes to the importance of Bible prophecy. So when I finally made our own family advent calendar in 2021, we began with prophecy, told the story of Jesus' birth, shared the gospel, and taught our children how to respond to this amazing story of grace and hope.

After two years of sharing this tradition with my own family,

Each day includes a section of Scripture, a sample script that mimics what we teach our own children ages 2-8, and an activity that we can all enjoy together. Some activities are as simple as singing a song or coloring a page, some are more geared towards Pre-K skills like mazes and puzzles, some are for slightly older children like crosswords, wordsearches, and cracking secret codes, while others are for all ages to enjoy like games and crafts.

The sample scripts can be read word for word, or you can adjust them to fit your style and children's understanding. This is the perfect way to count down the days to Christmas while introducing your children to prophecy, sharing the gospel with them, praying with them, and pointing them to the hope we have in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to redeem His church!
